In 1956, a group of parents who had children with disabilities formed a charitable society called Aid Retarded Persons NSW, to provide employment for people with disabilities who had limited work opportunities.
They opened a facility in Camperdown in Sydney's inner suburbs, with seven employees working on very basic tasks.
By 1982, Aid Retarded Persons had changed Amaroo Industries, employing 200 people with a disability, and expanding to factories in Redfern and Condell Park.
In 1995, the organisation's name was changed to Disability Services Australia (DSA) and today, DSA Business Services has three facilities conveniently located throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area and an additional facility located at Braemar in the Southern Highlands, all strategically situated close to major transportation routes. These fully functioning factories with material handling equipment provide supported employment in safe and modern facilities.
Each facility offers a wide range of services and provides excellent customer service and quality assurance.
