In 1956 a group of parents who had sons and daughters with disabilities formed a charitable society called Aid Retarded Persons NSW to provide employment for people with disabilities who had limited work opportunities.
They opened a facility in Camperdown in Sydney's inner suburbs with seven employees working on very basic tasks.
By 1982 Aid Retarded Persons had changed Amaroo Industries, we employed 200 people with a disability and had factories in Redfern and Condell Park.
In 1995 we changed our name to Disability Services Australia (DSA) and today, DSA Business Services has three facilities conveniently located throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area and an additional facility located at Braemar in the Southern Highlands, all are situated close to major transportation routes. They are fully functioning factories with material handling equipment providing supported employment in safe and modern facilities.
Each facility offers a wide range of services and provides excellent customer service and quality.
